Hot damn, I made it.

Unpacked, training, back is starting to feel a little better (slowly but surely), and I couldn’t ask for a better crew.

I’m living with a couple girls I met on craigslist (#craigslistjoe), and have a HOUSE which is a nice change from an apartment building. BSF is a much bigger program than I initially knew! The junior crew is huge, and a fun group to have around at practice. We all go do slightly different workouts, but the training environment is strong. Since Bozeman is just big enough, biking places is super easy, and practice is never that far away.

My first week out here we took a road trip to Jackson WY through West Yellowstone Park, which was definitely worth it! Such a different world in the summer time. I only know “WY, the ski area”, so it was educational to experience all the crazy natural phenomena that I’ve only heard of growing up.

Having to tame my training a bit more than I would like to for the disc herniation has been a challenge , but I have been able to do more than I thought I would at this time. My PT  has been using “dry needling”, which I can’t say I am a fan of, but seems to be helping. As my tears of pain drip into the towel near my head, the longer than acupuncture needles set off trigger points, easing seizing muscles to disperse tension. Patience, I am practicing patience.

Along with a few other girls who are just here for the summer, the crew of ladies to train with has been alot of fun!

Went to my first official Rodeo, and finally let my inner cowgirl loose…Cowboy hats just don’t seem fit for Minneapolis…

And just like that, my spandex clad lifestyle seems so…embarrassing.

Life Lesson #293 – Doesn’t matter what you wear, as long as you rock it.

Today, Anya and I went to go help out at the local Girls on the Run 5k race. I helped coach GoR in Vermont many years ago, and its made a special place in my heart. We wore lots of pink to join the girls….but when we got there we realized this race’s theme was green….awkward….I guess that falls under lesson #293 too.

Happy Fathers Day!
